We are a family of 5 with 3 boys, aged 10-14, who were looking to get a taste of the Highlands. Brian was great walking us through our options and ultimately recommending a great trip over 36 hours with an overnight stop in Oban. Our guide, Ross, was awesome. He was very flexible with our schedule and let us explore at our pace, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. He was great with the boys and led them to many great places to skip rocks and run around. We hit many beautiful, well-known places as well as many off-the-beaten-path spots. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our time with Ross!
Learn a little bit about the man behind the kilt: Brian Collie has worked in the travel and tourism industry since 1986, where he started as a holiday representative working with tourists in Spain, the Canary Islands and Turkey. He then worked as a Flight Attendant in Upper Class with Virgin Atlantic Airways, meeting many interesting and famous people along the way. Brian was also a flight attendant for the Emir of Qatar on his private jets for four years, and owned a small hotel in the Trossachs area of Scotland.
Brian’s philosophy is simple, “Customer service is king, treat everyone as an individual and as important as each other. In my eyes, there is no difference between the ruler of a country and a hard working couple looking for a relaxing break.”

What are the pre-requisites for a top quality tour guide? Personality, approachability, great customer service skills with the ability to think on their feet and of course, local knowledge. It’s pointless having a guide who knows every academic fact but can’t tell you the words of the “Jeely Piece” song!
Our operational base is Edinburgh, but the guides are from all over Scotland so we can pick up and drop off from anywhere in the country. We had the most magical time in the Scottish Highlands. This tour far surpassed any and all expectations I had, thanks in large part to our fabulous tour guide. Chris was lovely from the moment we met him and went out of his way the entire time to accommodate us. Not only is he a talented tour guide, but he’s also a great person who radiates positive energy. Although we had just met, it felt like we had known him for years. Chris was so thoughtful and patient with our group, plus he knew of all the best spots. His recommendations ended up being my favorite parts of the tour. We met and fed a Highland cow, visited fairies on a mountainside, and washed our faces in the river of youth. The ability to customize the tour to our liking while maintaining flexibility was fantastic. All of our lodging accommodations for the week were adorable and fun too! Thank you, Chris, for an unforgettable holiday. 10/10. Highly recommend this tour!
