Tour Description

Day 1: Edinburgh to Jedburgh

Begin with a hotel or airport pick-up in Edinburgh, then head south to the mystical Rosslyn Chapel (famous from The Da Vinci Code). Visit the charming town of Melrose and its beautiful abbey before pausing at Scott’s View, a favourite of Sir Walter Scott. Continue to Floors Castle before reaching your overnight stop in the historic Borders town of Jedburgh.

Day 2: Jedburgh to Windermere

Step into Roman Britain with a visit to Vindolanda Roman Fort, followed by an exploration of Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, enter the Lake District through Keswick and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in Windermere.

Day 3: Lake District

Cruise the serene waters of Lake Windermere, visit Ambleside, and enjoy optional walks amid the lakes and fells. Indulge in lunch at the renowned Drunken Duck gastro pub, then tour Hill Top, the quaint home of Beatrix Potter.

Day 4: Windermere to Caernarfon

Day 12 & 13: Edinburgh Old & New

Spend two days discovering the magic of Edinburgh. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the Old Town, from the Royal Mile to hidden closes and courtyards. Visit Dean Village, Fettes College, and the Roman ruins of Cramond. For the energetic, there’s an optional climb up Arthur’s Seat for panoramic views.
