7 Day Tour St. Andrews, Inverness, Isle of Skye and the Trossachs
DAY 1
Edinburgh to St. Andrews
In the midst of Edinburgh’s expansion during the Victorian and Georgian eras, the quaint Dean Village was swallowed up, losing some of its historical charm to urban development. Nearby, the medieval village of Falkland gained fame as a filming location for the popular series Outlander.
Moving onwards, you reach the iconic St. Andrews Old Town, where centuries of history and tradition are woven into the fabric of the town. Your day in St. Andrews culminates with a 14:08 tee time at the New Course, accompanied by three caddies whose fees of £65.00 each, plus tips, are to be settled on the day. The booking for this memorable experience is under the name Cindy Gillies Curren. As you explore this area, don’t forget to explore the charm of the local fishing villages that dot the coastline.

DAY 2
St. Andrews to Inverness
We head North, over the Tay Bridge at Dundee towards the Highlands.
There is a stunning short Waterfall walk at the Hermitage before a comfort break in the beautiful historical town of Dunkeld.
For Outlander fans, a visit to the Highland Folk Museum at Newtonmore is a must as it was used for many famous scenes.
A view of Ruthven Barracks before heading up to Tomatin Distillery for a Legacy tour at 14:00.
Before arriving in Inverness we can visit the ancient stone circles and tombs of Clava Cairns.

DAY 3 & 4
IInverness to the Isle of Skye
There are so many thing to see and do on the Isle of Skye that it would be impossible to see all of the great sites. The island has a coastline 400 miles long, highlights include, the Fairy Glen, Old Man of Storr, The Fairy Pools, Neist Point and much more…

Overnight at Isle of Skye Guesthouse
The Isle of Skye Guest House (formally known as MacKinnon House) has recently undergone refurbishment and is ready to welcome you to Skye.
The guest house is perfectly located just over the iconic Skye Bridge in Kyleakin. With 9 bedrooms in the main house and 6 bedrooms within our pet friendly Garden Rooms. There’s also a guest lounge to relax in after a busy day of exploring Skye and beyond.

DAY 5
Isle of Skye to Trossachs
We take a 30 minute Ferry from Armadale to Mallaig and follow the route of the Jacobite Express (Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter Movies), along one of the most scenic steam railway journeys in the world. Along the way we’ll pop into Camusdarroch beach, its white sands were ideal for the filming of ‘Local Hero’ with Burt Lancaster in the 1980’s. Pass the wonferfull Glenfinnan viaduct on the way to Fort William.
We continue through stunning Glencoe.
DAY 6
Trossachs Trail
In the morning we take some of you to Airdrie for an ancestral visit. (More info we vcan have on this, the better).
We then return into the the amazing Trossachs Trail and all of its treasures including the wonderful Dukes Pass, mountain drive. This day may be as relaxing or as busy as you wish.
At Loch Katrine, you may wish to hire bikes for a very safe ride on a traffic free zone around stunning Loch Katrine, there are all sorts of bikes from Electric to tandem. Alternatively, or as well, you may wish to climb a wonderful small mountain, Ben An.
DAY 7
Trossachs to Edinburgh
After Breakfast we have a short walk to the Bracklin Falls (Think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! ) .
Doune Castle now awaits,used for many TV & movie scenes including Outlander, Game of Thrones, Outlaw King and a very silly film called Monty Python & the Holy Grail.
Visit the amazing Kelpies...a symbol of Scotland rich industrial heritage. (Best selfies ever!)
Perhaps, if time allows, the medieval town of Culross is well worth a visit.
Arrive in Edinburgh Circu 5pm.
