My family (husband Phil, son Christian and Christian’s girlfriend Courtney) just spent a week in Scotland under the care of Personal Tours of Scotland. First, let me say that Brian and his staff, Donna and Jill, were beyond accommodating, and set up the best itinerary and hotels/B&B’s for our trip. Second, and the most important, Brian selected the best Driver/Tour Guide that matched our families personalities perfectly. We had the best time with David Redpath. He was knowledgeable and once he got to know us, made sure we saw all of the things we wanted to see. We laughed so much and had some “encounters” we didn’t expect. We all loved animals so he made sure we got to feed Highland Cows, pet sheep, and got us a Catamaran tour in Portree where we saw seals, sea eagles, dolphin, and even some stranded sheep on a cliff (tide came in on them but the boat captain called the owners to come rescue them). He was awesome! He even helped Courtney and I learn more about our family history. She had ties to the Robertson clan and I had ties to the Henderson clan via the surname Hendricks. Found out that name was also a Sept of the MacDonald Clan as well. Brian gave us an extraordinary walking tour of Edinburgh. I loved the visit to Greyfriars Kirk and the “ghost” stories plus the interesting anecdotes of some common phrases we hear a lot.

The scenery was unbelievable! I (we) loved every minute of our trip. The history I learned about as well was so interesting and weaved in with the American revolution and American colonization. Just wish it could have been longer.

Touring with Brian and Personal Tours of Scotland was the single best travel tour we’ve ever had. Very professional approach, comfortable vehicle, attention to detail at every turn. The itinerary was made flexible to accommodate real time weather and other unforeseen circumstances. But the best part  - besides the Scottish landscape and architecture itself -  were the stories about Scotland’s history, clans, terrain and more that our guide shared with us all along the way. We absolutely adored Paul! Our (very large) family has a lot of personality and he was just the right fit for us. We fell in love with Scotland through the gorgeous views, rich history, and exciting experiences Paul led us through. We used this travel company for a large group of Americans visiting Scotland to learn about their heritage. Brian and his tour guides were amazing. Brian and Rob were informative, knowledgeable, and entertaining. They were also helpful with managing luggage up the stairs at some of the hotels without lifts. I recently travelled to Scotland for the first time and was with a group of family and friends. We went with Personal Tours of Scotland to take us on a journey from Edinburgh to Inverness to Glasgow and back, and I'm so happy we did! From start to finish we had an amazing experience.

Our guide Paul had so much knowledge to share as he took us through the beauty, mystery, and incredible history of Scotland. Straight from the jump, Brian and Personal Tours of Scotland were the most professional out of the various tour companies we approached. As opposed to all the others, Brian took the time to listen to my wishes, and did his absolute best to hit every last thing I asked for.

We had a wonderful trip to Scotland and appreciate all the help Brian and his team provided to help us plan our trip. The advice and suggestions greatly contributed to have a great trip. We really enjoyed the four days we spent with our guide, Chris Chirnside. He’s very knowledgeable, cheerful and upbeat. We saw a lot of things from our planned itinerary but also deviated on the fly to make changes that were fun. Also fun was the pub we hit in Inverness, where we had a “slice of life”, a local female dancer (not one of the pub’s entertainers).
