  • Cultural Encounters & Local Experiences: Enjoy a whisky tasting masterclass in the town of Callander, cruise on Loch Ness, and visit the Jacobite Steam Train as it crosses the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. Discover St. Andrews, the home of golf and royalty, and explore quaint Fife fishing villages and secret pagan glens few tourists ever reach.

Tour Description

Day 1: Edinburgh to Callander

Begin with a visit to the beautifully preserved medieval village of Culross, featured in Outlander, before detouring to see the majestic Kelpies. Explore the mighty Stirling Castle, then stop at Doune Castle, famed for its film and TV history. End your day with a whisky tasting masterclass in Callander, or simply unwind and explore this charming Trossachs town.

Day 2: Callander to Plockton (via Skye)

Drive through the dramatic highland scenery of Glencoe—with an optional short hike—followed by lunch at the iconic Clachaig Inn. Board the Jacobite Express steam train (aka the Hogwarts Express) in Fort William and cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Ferry from Mallaig to Skye, then settle into the coastal beauty of Plockton, known as the “Jewel of the Highlands”.

Day 3: Skye – Trotternish Peninsula

Venture into the heart of Skye’s east coast, exploring optional walks at Lealt Falls or the Old Man of Storr. Marvel at Kilt Rock, go fossil hunting, and soak up the surreal beauty of The Quiraing. Finish with a magical stop at The Fairy Glen, then explore the colourful harbour town of Portree.

Day 4: Plockton to Inverness via Torridon

Take the jaw-dropping drive over Bealach Na Bà, descending into the wild beauty of Wester Ross and the ancient Torridon mountains. Visit Corrieshalloch Gorge (not for those with vertigo!) and enjoy a peaceful stroll to Rogie Falls before arriving in Inverness for the evening.

Day 5: Loch Ness Loop

Circle the legendary Loch Ness, beginning with a quiet drive along its southern shore and a hidden waterfall hike at Falls of Foyers. Enjoy lunch in Fort Augustus, then consider an optional Loch Ness boat trip. Visit Urquhart Castle before returning to Inverness for the night.

Day 6: Inverness to Perthshire

Start the day with a visit to the haunting Culloden Battlefield, site of the last battle on British soil. Then step even further back in time at Clava Cairns, a Neolithic site rich in mystery and spiritual lore. Head south into Perthshire for an overnight stay surrounded by Highland tranquility.

Day 7: Perthshire to St. Andrews

Take a morning walk through Scotland’s ‘tall tree country’ and visit a secluded waterfall. Optionally explore Scone Abbey, the ancient crowning site of Scottish kings. Arrive in St. Andrews by afternoon for a scenic drive around the golf courses, a wander through the medieval town, and a glimpse of its prestigious university.

Day 8: St. Andrews to Edinburgh

Begin the day with a gentle stroll through St. Andrews, then visit Dunino Glen, an ancient pagan site rarely seen by tourists. Continue through the fishing villages of Fife, with the option of a boat tour to a haunted island. End your adventure at the stunning medieval village of Falkland, another Outlander filming location, before returning to Edinburgh.
